Together with Livity, PICNIC launched PlayStation’s Giphy page with custom made GIFs for the PlayStation Generation (anyone born after 1985). With over 50 gifs in the campaign, each one was treated as a mini-project, whilst keeping to an overall consistency by always delivering an on-brand sleekness associated with Playstation.
The ongoing creative partnership between PICNIC and Porter Robinson is now running into its 3rd glorious year. During this time, we have become fully immersed in what makes his music and image so unique. PICNIC has created the backdrops for Porter’s world-tours, fusing Anime-inspired characters and epic dreamscapes to create an audio/visual experience like no other. Commissioned through the BBC, and made in co-production with Mosaic Films, this collection of short films explore common mental health issues faced by young children aged 8-13. Using personal testimonies of their experiences, each film explores a range of topics including OCD, Depression, Anorexia, Panic, being bullied, and being a bully.
The brief from MTV was an epic beach storming, but with love guns, shark jets, and terrific fire-spitting hydras. Working closely with the live action team, we covered everything from the on set shoot supervision in Majorca, design of all objects and creatures, beautiful traditional cel animation, to involved post production (which included replacement of banana boats with sharks, obviously…)
NBC Universal asked us to mark Syfy channel's 20th birthday with the most intense, easter-egg-filled, action packed, mid nineties style film we could muster. We created a 20 second spot alongside an online game developed with Realise. Containing our giddy, nostalgic excitement we promptly cracked on with creating a vast Rama-like structure floating in space, housing cities, oceans, space battles and other alien paraphernalia.
