CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER 2017
This brief was about colour, fun and all round good vibes to counter the January blues. Channel 5 wanted to move away from the dark, somewhat sinister title sequences of late and welcome one with a more positive touch.
We ran with the pop art style, working to ensure Big Brother stays one of the most watched shows on the box.
What we Did
This promo was co-directed between PICNIC and Channel 5, where we were responsible for the overall design in addition to animation / post production. The biggest challenge was a seamless tunnelling of many pieces of artwork and live action footage: one thing was ensuring the transitions are so smooth and so pleasing, the other was creating something beautiful that wherever you might pause during the film what is seen on screen remained a joyfully composed pop-art party.
Of course we were on set during the shoot to make sure our live-action brothers and sisters were not up to mischief so that our animation team back in the studio had all the right ingredients for mixing.
